After becoming Pokémon League Champions and travelling around Kanto, our heroes return to Johto for a well-deserved rest. However, the peace is short-lived… A mysterious discovery upsets the balance of the Pokémon world: Teleporters capable of sending humans back to a very early era in the region’s history. What at first appears to be an unprecedented technological breakthrough is merely the beginning of a greater conflict. Who created this technology? Who is behind its exploitation? Who can manipulate this temporal advantage? What Pokémon exist in that primitive era? The answers will lead the player to explore not only a Johto altered by these new events, but also its temporal counterparts and other regions yet to be confirmed.
